Hello Folks....The following is the first 2 chapters of my story. It's a little odd, but has my views on some things incorporated into it.....(this is only a rough draft)
Chapter 1 The Remembering (Bits and Pieces) I don’t remember everything, mostly bits and pieces of certain points in my life. But I’ve noticed that once I start to remember those bits and pieces, other bits and pieces start to emerge. Sometimes, after remembering a specific point, I lose the original bits and pieces, but those lost bits and pieces are replaced with newer bits and pieces, thus reinforcing the original, lost bits and pieces. These newer bits and pieces have a stronger bond than the original, lost bits and pieces. This may explain why I lost the original bits and pieces, they just couldn’t hold on. I’d imagine that, the next time I remember that specific point in my life, I will lose the replacement bits and pieces and replace those with new bits and pieces with an even stronger bond. You see, each time you remember a specific point in your life, you are reinforcing that memory, (bond). It’s like, every time you remember something, you start that memory spinning. Then, when you remember it again, it spins a little faster. Before you know it, you remember it without any effort. Thus, the strongest bits and pieces have found their centrifugal limit. Now, don’t forget to remember, for even the strongest bond can be broken, bringing you back to the beginning, to start the cycle all over again.
The Experience
(Dictating memories)
In order for there to be a memory to remember, one must have experience. Experience dictates memories. That is, through experience we gain memories. Everything that our senses sense, is recorded into memory. As time passes, this information is sifted through, mostly subconsciously while we sleep (we‘ll address this later on). In reference to chapter one, over time, only bits and pieces remain. Parts of the memory that stand out the most are stored directly (the strongest bonds). The rest of the details for that memory are stored indirectly (the weaker bonds). These indirect memories are only active when the direct memory is active, thus filling in the missing parts (bits and pieces), to reveal the entire memory. Sometimes though, we lose all or just part of our memories. In some instances, we lose the connection to certain parts of our memories (amnesia), in which we temporarily cannot remember our memories/experiences. While instinctual memories usually remain, like motor skills and language, our ability to recall even the basic memories of our experiences is temporarily impaired. Experience is how we determine what is right or wrong, good or bad. It helps us to make the proper decisions as we travel the roads of life. The more experiences we have, the better our decision making skills become. Not to say we won’t make any bad decisions, there is not always enough time to make a well thought out decision. Sometimes we have to make a quick decision based on the strongest bits and pieces of a given memory.
