You told me once I was the only guy
How you wanted to be with me the rest of your life
My head was in an impossible trance
An all embracing love dream and total romance

Now I know you’re not as you seem
I wondered how long it would take you to come clean
And admit to me what you had done
Before storming off and going out on another one

In me you had a rich love its true
But all that I had was not enough for all of you
Is the grass greener on the other side?
Tell me now don’t shy away into a hole and hide

Once you invited me into your life
I was so happy then but I couldn’t predict any strife
You charmed me with each spoken word
To resist you then was futile so frankly absurd

Scars you made will always be around
From the first day your raised hand put me down
I hope you find all you're looking for
But I have my doubts in spite of many open doors
